Joining the Fortuna Community Garden

Anyone may join the Fortuna Community Garden, either as an active gardener or as a sponsor. An active gardener may operate one's own plot and/or do volunteer work in other garden areas or on other plots. A sponsor provides financial support for plot rental, seeds, plants, fertilizer, etc. That plot is then provided to an individual or to a family for their use, or operated by volunteers who then supply the food to a food bank for distribution.

Plots are rented for twelve months starting May 1. The rental fee is $20 for the year. Many fall vegetables overwinter well in the Fortuna area, especially in raised beds.
